Accountability

Corrections should leave a trail.

We correct factual errors promptly, preserve meaningful uncertainty, and record substantive changes instead of silently rewriting history.

What makes a useful correction

Please include:

  • the exact page URL and sentence or table row;
  • what you believe is incorrect or materially incomplete;
  • a direct link or full citation to the strongest available source;
  • whether you have an institutional, commercial, or personal connection to the subject;
  • how you would word the corrected claim without overstating the evidence.

How we evaluate a request

  1. Locate the claim and the sources originally used.
  2. Check the proposed source for provenance, date, scope, and competing interpretations.
  3. Prefer primary records and specialist work closest to the claim.
  4. Update the page, citations, structured data, and review date together.
  5. Record substantive corrections below.

Review schedule

Durable historical interpretation is reviewed every 24–36 months. Developing artifact, company, community, material, and image-rights interpretations are reviewed annually. Current law, regulations, standards, software security, and commercial claims require a check at publication, at every update, and at least every six months while the claim remains current.
